This Too Shall Pass

Through dance, we gain new insights into the mystery of our lives. When brought forth from the inside and forged by the desire to create personal change, dance has the
profound power to heal the body, psyche and soul.
— Anna Halprin

Through working in collaboration with dancer Jenna Tostevin with a series of open-ended prompts and improvisations the intention of the piece is to allow for both nature and body to exchange in a dance of reciprocity. Re-connecting with the Earth through a series of evolving movements such as laying, crawling, holding, curving and folding in a process of embodiment that explores the relationship between mind, spirit and the Earth. Creating spaces of connection and deep understanding in how our bodies respond to difficult emotions such as anxiety, and how moving our bodies in nature can provide a space of warmth and reciprocity where we can learn through nature’s healing properties not only how to restore ourselves, but how to also restore the land.

Creating tenderness for toughness

I am deeply grateful to Jenna Tostevin, Joe Hennessy, Fi Munday and Oli Brown for their creative contributions and support to bring this little seedling of an idea into reality.

In my creative practice I aim to facilitate hopeful and tender spaces where our emotions can be heard and healed.

I invite all forms of collaboration into my life through dance, music and visual arts. I love for collaboration to be an open exchange of ideas and a fluid way of working together to collectively explore creativity and connection to the Earth through regenerative processes.
